About This Beach
Surfside Jetty Park centers around a long stone jetty extending into the Gulf of Mexico at the entrance to Freeport Harbor. The jetty provides exceptional fishing opportunities without a boat, attracting anglers targeting redfish, speckled trout, and shark. The park includes a children’s playground, pavilions with picnic tables, and clean restroom facilities. Walking the jetty offers opportunities to observe marine life, including dolphins that frequently swim alongside the rocks. Bird watching is excellent with many coastal species using the jetty as a perch. The park’s location at the east end of Surfside Beach makes it convenient to combine with other beach activities. The jetty creates a natural barrier, resulting in calmer waters on one side for wading.
