About This Beach
Solana Beach features several cove-like beaches nestled beneath scenic sandstone bluffs north of San Diego. Fletcher Cove Beach Park, the main access point, includes a grassy park area atop the bluff with a playground and picnic facilities, plus a gradually sloping ramp down to the beach. Tide Beach Park to the north offers excellent tide pools during low tide, while Seascape Surf to the south is popular with surfers for its reliable breaks. The beaches have striking geological features including unique rock formations and fossil-rich cliff faces. Unlike many Southern California beaches, Solana Beach remains relatively uncrowded and maintains a local feel, while the adjacent Cedros Design District offers boutique shopping and dining just steps from the shore.
