About This Beach

Redondo Beach combines a wide sandy shoreline with an active harbor and pier area, creating a diverse coastal experience. The beach itself offers swimming areas protected by breakwaters and a jetty, with separate zones for surfing. The landmark Redondo Beach Pier has a distinctive horseshoe shape housing restaurants, shops, and an interactive marine education center. Adjacent to the pier is King Harbor Marina with sailing and fishing boats, plus kayak and paddleboard rentals. The 22-mile Marvin Braude Coastal Bike Path runs through Redondo, connecting it to neighboring beach cities. The Redondo Beach harbor area is known for seasonal whale watching tours and the semi-submersible “Looking Glass” boat that offers underwater viewing.
