A small beach area along Mobile Bay near the historic Grand Hotel. Features calm waters and scenic views. The beach at the Grand Hotel is private for guests, but there are public access points in the area. Known for beautiful sunsets over Mobile Bay.
Bird Island (Walker Island)
A small island in Perdido Bay accessible only by boat, known for its abundant bird life. Protected area where visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and observing wildlife. Shallow waters surround the island, making it popular for wading and relaxing.
Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge Beach
A pristine natural beach within a wildlife refuge protecting endangered species. Features undeveloped coastline, maritime forests, and diverse habitats. Accessible via hiking trails including the popular Jeff Friend Trail and Pine Beach Trail. Limited facilities.
Fairhope Municipal Beach
A charming beach on Mobile Bay known for its scenic pier and stunning sunsets. Features include a duck pond, rose garden, fountain, pavilion, and restrooms. The water is shallow and calm, making it ideal for families with small children.
Robinson Island
A popular boating destination in Perdido Bay accessible only by water. Features sandy beaches, shallow waters, and beautiful natural scenery. Protected bird nesting site with restrictions during nesting season. Popular anchorage for recreational boaters.
Little Lagoon Pass Beach
A small beach area where Little Lagoon connects to the Gulf of Mexico. Popular fishing spot with access to both the lagoon and Gulf waters. Features include a small parking area, restrooms, and a fishing bridge. Great location for watching sunsets.
Fort Morgan Beach
Located at the western tip of Alabama’s Gulf Coast, this beach area offers a more secluded experience near the historic Fort Morgan. Less developed than Gulf Shores with fewer amenities but features beautiful natural scenery and historical significance.
West End Beach (Dauphin Island)
The undeveloped western end of Dauphin Island offers a natural beach experience with minimal facilities. Popular for its unspoiled landscape, excellent shelling opportunities, and bird watching. Often less crowded but requires walking from public access points.
Dauphin Island Public Beach
Located on Alabama’s barrier island, this public beach offers a peaceful environment with soft white sand and gentle waves. Amenities include boardwalks, picnic areas, restrooms, and outdoor showers. Entrance fee required but less crowded than Gulf Shores beaches.
