About This Beach
North Beach at Port Mansfield offers one of the most remote and undeveloped beach experiences in Texas. The beach is accessible via a sandy path through the dunes starting at Fred Stone County Park. Four-wheel drive is strongly recommended due to the soft sand. The remote location between Corpus Christi and South Padre Island means extremely light crowds even during peak seasons. The beach is part of the Padre Island National Seashore but accessible from the mainland side. The area is world-renowned for fishing, particularly for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. The Port Mansfield Jetties create excellent fishing opportunities from shore. The undeveloped nature means no facilities, requiring visitors to be self-sufficient, but rewards them with pristine conditions and abundant wildlife.
