About This Beach
Manresa State Beach features a long stretch of pristine shoreline south of Santa Cruz, offering a less developed beach experience than more tourist-oriented areas. The beach is backed by impressive eroding bluffs and dunes that provide a natural buffer from nearby agricultural lands. A campground sits atop the bluff with 60 campsites offering proximity to the beach without direct ocean views. The consistent surf breaks attract experienced surfers, particularly at the south end, while the beach’s western exposure makes it ideal for sunset viewing. Fishing for surf perch and striped bass is popular, and the extensive shoreline provides ample space for long beach walks. The relatively remote location and limited parking help maintain the beach’s uncrowded atmosphere, even during summer months.
