About This Beach
Malibu Lagoon State Beach encompasses Surfrider Beach, a legendary surfing location known for its perfect right-hand breaks and designated as the first World Surfing Reserve. Adjacent to the beach is the restored Malibu Lagoon, where Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean, creating an important estuary that attracts over 200 species of birds. Walking trails and observation areas allow visitors to explore this sensitive habitat. The site also includes the historic Adamson House, a Spanish Colonial Revival style home showcasing extraordinary decorative tiles that earned it the nickname “Taj Mahal of Tile.” The beach offers stunning views of the Malibu Pier and is located near the heart of Malibu with shopping and dining options.
