About This Beach

La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach surrounded by sandstone cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego. Part of a marine protected area, its crystal-clear waters make it ideal for snorkeling and swimming. The cove is home to abundant marine life and frequently visited by sea lions who sunbathe on nearby rocks. Adjacent to the cove is Ellen Browning Scripps Park, perfect for picnics with panoramic ocean views, and sea caves that can be explored by kayak or at low tide.
