About This Beach
Jenner Beach sits at the mouth of the Russian River where it meets the Pacific Ocean, creating a dynamic coastal environment with shifting sandbars and a rich diversity of wildlife. The beach is known for its colony of harbor seals that can be observed from a safe distance, particularly during pupping season. The surrounding area offers dramatic views of coastal rock formations, while Goat Rock Beach to the south features massive sea stacks and crashing waves. Due to dangerous currents and cold water, swimming is not recommended, but the beach is ideal for walking, photography, and nature observation. Adjacent Sonoma Coast State Park provides hiking trails with panoramic coastal vistas, and the small town of Jenner offers dining with river views.
