Blue Shutters Town Beach
A town beach on Rhode Island’s southern shore with facilities including a pavilion with changing rooms and concessions. Offers a similar beach experience to nearby state beaches but often less crowded.
Narragansett Town Beach
A premier surfing destination in New England featuring a mile-long sandy beach with the historic Narragansett Towers nearby. Modern pavilion offers showers, changing rooms, and concessions.
Sachuest Beach (Second Beach)
A mile-long beach adjacent to the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge. Features excellent surf conditions, scenic views, and proximity to hiking trails with diverse coastal wildlife.
Horseneck Beach
A 2-mile barrier beach on Buzzards Bay with panoramic views and rolling surf. Features camping facilities, excellent bird watching in adjacent salt marshes, and consistent breezes for windsurfing.
Marconi Beach
Named for the site of the first transatlantic wireless communication, this beach features towering clay cliffs and expansive Atlantic Ocean views. Offers good surfing conditions and a less crowded atmosphere.
Head of the Meadow Beach
Part of the Cape Cod National Seashore featuring a wide sandy beach with access to bike trails. At low tide, visitors can sometimes see the remains of the shipwrecked Frances that ran aground in 1872.
Cisco Beach
A popular surfing beach on Nantucket’s south shore with consistent waves and extensive shoreline. Featured in the movie “Jaws” and accessible via the island’s bike path network with spectacular sunset views.
Nauset Beach
A 10-mile stretch of barrier beach on the Atlantic Ocean with rolling surf and golden sand. Known for good surfing conditions, fishing opportunities, and permitted off-road vehicle access in certain areas.

Consistently ranked among America’s best beaches, featuring a wide sandy shore backed by glacial bluffs. Popular for swimming, surfing, and seal watching with access via shuttle bus during summer.
