Smith Point County Park
Suffolk County’s largest ocean beach featuring the TWA Flight 800 International Memorial. Offers camping, outer beach access for 4x4s, and prime fishing locations. Home to Fire Island National Seashore Wilderness area.
Lido Beach
Town of Hempstead beach featuring surfing areas, fishing piers, and recreational facilities. Located close to Long Beach with boardwalk, food concessions, and activities for all ages.
Robert Moses State Park
Five miles of shoreline with pristine beaches, picnic areas, and the historic Fire Island Lighthouse. Less crowded than Jones Beach with excellent facilities and fishing pier. Designated surfing areas available.
Jones Beach State Park
Iconic 6.5-mile beach with boardwalk, two swimming pools, and an outdoor amphitheater. One of New York’s most popular beaches with excellent facilities including restaurants, concessions, and playgrounds.
Main Beach East Hampton
Exclusive beach in the Hamptons with white sand and pristine conditions. Offers snack bar, restrooms, showers, and lifeguards during summer. Popular with celebrities and wealthy visitors.
Rockaway Beach
New York City’s only legal surfing beach with a revitalized boardwalk, food concessions, and playgrounds. A diverse, vibrant beach accessible via subway. Popular with surfers and city-dwellers.
Long Beach
Four miles of pristine white sand beach with a recently rebuilt 2.2-mile boardwalk. Features designated surfing areas, volleyball courts, and concessions. Close to NYC but requires entrance fee.
Mansion Beach
Named for a mansion that once stood nearby, this Block Island beach features pristine white sand and excellent swimming conditions. Offers a more secluded experience than the town beaches with good surfing.
East Matunuck Town Beach
A town-operated beach adjacent to the state beach with similar amenities but often less crowded. Popular with locals for swimming, surfing, and fishing with views of Block Island on clear days.
