Hither Hills State Park
Beach and campground on the eastern end of Long Island featuring beautiful “walking dunes” of Napeague Harbor. Popular destination for families with campsites close to the ocean.
Ponquogue Beach
Popular Southampton Town beach with wide stretches of clean white sand. Features modern facilities, concession stand, and volleyball courts. Less crowded than many Hamptons beaches.
Cupsogue Beach County Park
Located on the western end of Dune Road in Westhampton with Atlantic Ocean access. Features camping facilities, saltwater fishing, food concessions, and outer beach access for off-road vehicles with permits.
Orient Beach State Park
Natural beach on the tip of Long Island’s North Fork with maritime forest, salt marsh, and rare plants. Features kayak rentals, picnic pavilions, and a beach suitable for families with small children.
Sunken Meadow State Park
North Shore beach on Long Island Sound with three miles of shoreline. Calmer waters ideal for families with young children. Features hiking trails along coastal bluffs and through wetlands.
Tobay Beach
Town of Oyster Bay beach with both ocean and bay access. Features two restaurants, a fully operational marina, and spray park for children. Reserved primarily for town residents and their guests.
Cedar Beach
North Shore beach on Long Island with facilities including playground, volleyball courts, and picnic areas. Features a nature center with educational programs and regular entertainment events in summer.
Gin Beach
Quieter alternative to Montauk’s main beaches, located at the entrance to Montauk Harbor. Protected from ocean waves, making it ideal for families. Known for beautiful sunsets and surfcasting.
South Beach
Part of Staten Island’s FDR Boardwalk featuring a 2.5-mile boardwalk, fitness areas, and calm waters. Less crowded than other NYC beaches with views of the Verrazzano Bridge.
